Describe what you do.

I manage the marketing and communications for a nonprofit workforce development organization. My tasks are different every day and the industry constantly changes — which is what I love most about the advertising, marketing, and public relations industry. Most days I curate and create content for all print and digital mediums as well as coordinate media relations and assist with event.

Describe how you do it.

I would not be able to do what I do without the technology and people that I work with. Managing 5 social media accounts is difficult, but manageable with technology.

Describe why you do it.

When I was in college I worked with a similar organization as an intern. Today I help connect other people to the opportunities they need to kick start their career.

What was the first step you took to become what you are now?

I asked questions and showed interest in the bigger picture. Over time, I was given the opportunity to explore the answers to many of those questions.

What do you wish you had paid more attention to in school?

I wish I had kept my notes or the most important text books. Often I find myself wishing I hadn’t sold the resources that were instrumental to my studies.
